We are not just a general art site with a plain A.I. corner, while it is the main theme, it also
hosts the darker, twisted end of what these tools can be pushed to make.

What you'll discover:

* Galleries — upload A.I. art, organize it into your own collections, members can like/comment
* Music — upload tracks and create albums, with cover art and a proper player inside the site, members can like/comment.

You choose how dark it gets! The site is open to everyone, and upon first login, you can choose your experience:

* Show me Everything — the whole site, NSFW adult galleries, dark and erotic stories, extreme fetish forums, and more.
* Keep it Tame — adult galleries, adult stories, and forums stay out of sight, completely.

Pick the second and you simply never see the adult side. Not blurred, not behind a warning you have to click past — absent.
This one time choice is saved to your account. Ask the Admin, Drac, to change it later, if desired.

The rules, in short:

* A.I. renders of any kind (see below), any music (doesn't have to be A.I.), and related work and discussion is what belongs here.
* No real photographs of people, period (some of the forum posts allow real pics of animals/pets, but that's the cut off).
* Extreme and dark fetish themes are fine — Artistic nude renders are welcome too (but like I said, you can opt out at first login).
* This is an art site, not a porntube. Pornography for its own sake is not what this place is for and is simply not accepted.

Everything is 100% free, and there are no ads or spam. Site e-mails are minimal and can be opted out of.

🖼️ The picture viewer, rebuilt​


Opening an image full-screen used to be a dead end: you looked at one picture,
closed it, clicked another, waited for a page load. Now it is something you can
actually browse in.

  • Left click moves to the next picture. Anywhere on the image or the
    space around it. Past the last one it wraps to the first and keeps going, so
    you can sit there clicking through a whole gallery without thinking about
    where the end is.
  • A strip of thumbnails runs along the bottom. Every picture in the
    gallery, the current one outlined, and it scrolls itself along as you advance.
    Click any thumbnail to jump straight to it. If there are more than fit on
    screen, arrows appear to scroll the strip — and only then, because an arrow
    that does nothing is worse than no arrow.
  • The next and previous pictures are downloaded before you ask for them.
    Clicking through a gallery should feel like turning pages, not like waiting for
    a website, and mostly it now does.
  • Arrow keys work. Left and right, same wrapping.
  • On a phone, tap to advance and swipe back. A tap cannot express
    direction, so the swipe is what going backwards is for.

One thing genuinely changed rather than added: clicking outside the
picture no longer closes the viewer, because that click now means "next". Close
is the button in the top-right corner, or the Escape key. I have made that
button considerably harder to miss than the bare × it replaces — it says
CLOSE on it now, and it lights up and turns when you point at it.

The viewer also finally covers the navigation bar. It had been quietly drawing
the site header across the top of every full-screen picture, which I had somehow
stopped seeing.



📎 Forum attachments do all of that too​


Click an attachment in a post and you get the same viewer: click to advance,
thumbnail strip, arrow keys, swipe, the same Close button.

It cycles that post's attachments and stops there. "Next picture" meaning
the first attachment of somebody else's reply three posts further down is not
what anybody means by next.

A post with a single attachment behaves exactly as it always did — no strip, no
cycling, nothing advertising a gesture that would do nothing.



🧭 The forum, made navigable​


The forum worked, in the sense that everything was reachable if you knew where
it was. Five things fixed that.

Breadcrumbs now show the whole path.

Forums / Category / Forum / Thread

They used to skip the category entirely, so you could be three levels deep with
nothing on screen saying which section of the board you were in. They also
appear again at the foot of a thread, under the last post and above the
reply box — a long thread scrolls the top ones out of sight, and the bottom is
exactly where you have finished reading and want to go back up.

A thread row is no longer one enormous link. The entire row used to be a
single clickable block, which meant the only thing you could do from a listing
was open the thread. You could not visit the author's profile. You could not
even select the title's text. Now the title is a link, both usernames are links,
and the space between them is just space. The row still highlights as you scan
it — it simply is not the thing you click.

A thread you are part-way through opens where you left off. Click the
title and you land on the first post you have not read, not back at the top of
page one. Threads like that carry a small Go to new tag so it is clear
the title is about to do something different from usual.

There is a New Posts button. One at the top of the board and one on
every forum, and behind it a page listing every thread with something in it you
have not read — each row saying which forum it lives in, each title dropping you
at your first unread post. The one inside a forum is scoped to that forum, with
a Whole Board button to widen it.

And a New Thread button that covers everything. One control at the top of
the board, opening a menu of every forum you can post in, grouped by category.
It does not appear at all if there is nowhere you may post — a button leading to
"you cannot post here" is worse than no button.



🪪 Hovering a username tells you who they are​


Point at any member's name in the forum — in a thread, in a listing, on a reply
— and a small card appears: their avatar, whether they are online, their role,
when they joined, and their post, image and gallery counts, with buttons through
to their profile and to a private message.

It waits a moment before appearing, so sweeping the pointer across a page of
names does not fill the screen with cards, and it stays up long enough for you
to move onto it and press something. Tabbing to a name with the keyboard opens
it too.

If you are on a phone, or if the script fails, every one of those names is still
an ordinary link to the profile — exactly as it was.



💬 Every tooltip now matches the ones in the header​


The icons along the top of the site had a proper tooltip — cyan, in the site's
own typeface, with a little arrow. Everything else on the site had whatever grey
box your operating system draws.

There were about seventy of those. They are all the good one now.



👤 Profiles: the same numbers, once each​


There was a row of statistics above the profile tabs — images, galleries,
tracks, forum posts, friends — and the tabs underneath were already counting
themselves. Forum and Friends appeared twice, one line apart.

The row is gone. Every number survives on the tab it belongs to:

  • GALLERIES - 5, MUSIC - 6, FORUM - 20,
    FRIENDS - 11
  • The image count moved inside the Galleries tab, beside the heading, reading
    something like "5 galleries · 69 images" — images are not a section of a
    profile, they are what the galleries contain.

The dash between each tab and its number is violet, which is the only colour on
the site that does not already mean something. Cyan is ordinary, gold is
pinned, amber is locked, magenta is staff, green is presence, red is
destructive. A separator means nothing at all, so it needed a colour that means
nothing at all.



🎨 Small things​


  • Creating a gallery from inside a category. When you are browsing one
    category, there is now a Create Gallery in this Category button beside
    the usual one, and the form opens with that category already chosen. It hides
    itself on "All", where there is nothing to inherit.
  • An empty category says so and stops talking. It used to offer you a
    link to go and create something. There are two buttons doing that a few
    centimetres above it, so now it just says No visual records found!
  • "Danger Zone" is now "Delete Account" in account settings, and the
    panel no longer prints its heading and warning twice, which it had been doing
    since the day it was built.
  • Cancel buttons are coloured before you hover them. The site has two
    button families and they disagreed: one showed its colour at rest, the other
    stayed grey until you pointed at it, so a Cancel next to a Post looked like a
    different kind of control depending on which screen you were on. They match now,
    and a Cancel still reads as quieter than the thing it backs out of.
  • The emoji picker fits. It was showing a sliver of scrollbar over
    nothing at all — the panel's height limit and the emoji catalogue's natural
    height happened to be the same number to the pixel, so it sat permanently one
    rounding error away from scrolling.



📢 Announcements say who they are from​


An announcement from me used to arrive as a bare sentence with nothing to tell
it apart from any other notification. Each one now carries an attribution line
underneath it, in green:

— Drac, Site Admin and Creator

It is worked out when you read the notification rather than being stamped into
it when it is sent, so the wording can be corrected afterwards and every copy
already sitting in every inbox follows along. Moderators and any future admin
are signed from their own role, automatically — one shared editable line would
sign somebody else's announcement as the Creator, which is precisely the thing
this line exists to state accurately.

Announcements also no longer fade once you have read them. Everything
else still does. An official notice is the one kind of message worth reading
twice, and it was being dimmed to sixty per cent alongside "somebody liked your
picture".



That is the lot. As always, if something here reads as broken rather than as a
decision, tell me — half the changes above started life as somebody saying "why
does it do that", and the forum section is entirely that.

NEW FEATURES

FOLLOW A CONVERSATION
---------------------

There is a new tick box underneath every comment box, on pictures,
tracks, albums and story pages. It reads "E-mail me when someone
replies?" and it does exactly that.

Until now you only heard about a comment when it was aimed at you —
someone commenting on something you made, or answering something you
wrote. That left a gap. If you joined a conversation halfway down a
busy picture, you had no way of knowing it carried on without you
unless you remembered to go back and look.

Ticking the box fixes that. From then on you are told about everything
said there, whether or not it was aimed at you. It works the same way
on every kind of content that has comments.

The box is unticked by default, every single time, and that is
deliberate. Nobody should start receiving e-mail because of a box they
did not notice.

Two things are worth knowing about how it behaves.

Unticking it never unsubscribes you. It means "not this time", nothing
more. If you deliberately followed a busy thread last week and then
leave the box clear on a quick reply today, you stay following it. To
actually stop, use the Following page described below, or the link at
the bottom of the e-mail.

It is also a completely separate setting from the comment e-mails you
already had. In Edit Account under Preferences there are now two
switches: "Someone answers you", which is the old behaviour, and
"Threads you followed", which is this. Wanting one and not the other is
perfectly reasonable, and now possible.

As with every other notification e-mail on the site, nothing is sent
while you are actually here. If you are on the site when the comment
lands you get the bell instead, because you can already see it.


FOLLOW EVERYTHING YOU JOIN, AUTOMATICALLY
-----------------------------------------

If you would rather not remember the tick box, there is a switch for
that. Edit Account, Preferences, at the bottom under Following: "Tick
follow for me automatically".

Turn it on and the follow box starts ticked every time you comment
anywhere. You can still untick it on any individual comment — it only
changes what the box starts as, and it sends nothing by itself.

It is off by default, so nothing changes for anybody who does not go
looking for it.


A PAGE FOR EVERYTHING YOU FOLLOW
--------------------------------

Edit Account, then the new Following tab.

This is one list of everything you are signed up to hear about — every
forum thread you watch and every conversation you have followed, side
by side, newest first. Each row says what kind of thing it is, what it
is called, and when you started following it. The name is a link, so
you can go straight there.

There are tick boxes down the side and a single button at the top, so
clearing out fifteen threads you have lost interest in takes one go
rather than fifteen visits.

Unfollowing only stops the e-mails and the notifications. Nothing you
have written is touched, and you can always follow again later.

If something you followed has since been deleted, the row is still
listed as "Deleted content" so you can tick it and clear it out rather
than wondering why it is not there.


LINKS IN COMMENTS
-----------------

Paste a link into a comment and it is now a real, clickable link.

Before this, comments were the only place on the site where a URL came
out as plain text you had to select and copy by hand. The forum has
linked them for as long as it has existed, and so have private
messages; comments simply never did.

Anything pointing off Our Dark Home raises the same "you are leaving
the site" confirmation the forum and private messages use, so a link
never quietly takes you somewhere else.

This applies to comments already posted, too. Nothing about them was
stored as markup, so every old comment with a link in it lit up the
moment this went live.


THE FORUM DIGEST IS MUCH FASTER
-------------------------------

The e-mail listing new activity in threads you watch used to go out
once a day. It now goes out every two hours.

It still only arrives while you are away from the site — if you are
here, you have the unread markers and the threads themselves, and an
e-mail about them would be telling you what you can already see.

Nothing is sent at all unless something you watch has actually been
replied to, so a quiet day is still a quiet inbox.


CLICKING A LINK IN AN E-MAIL NOW CLEARS THE BELL
------------------------------------------------

A small thing that was quietly annoying. You would get an e-mail about
a comment, click through, read it — and then come back to the site
later to find the same notification still sitting there unread, waiting
to be dismissed a second time.

Following a link from any notification e-mail now marks that
notification as read on the way through. One event, dealt with once.


SELECT ALL AND MASS DELETE, THROUGHOUT THE ADMIN PANEL
------------------------------------------------------

Every list in the admin panel that has tick boxes now has a proper
"select all" — and it means all, not just the twenty-five rows
currently on screen.

Above each list there is now a strip offering to select the page, or to
select everything matching whatever filter is active. Filter down to
"unpublished images by this member", take the second option, and you
have all four hundred of them selected regardless of how many pages
that spans.

Mass delete is now its own clearly marked red button rather than one
entry in a dropdown next to Publish, and it asks you to type the word
DELETE before it will do anything. Each list also explains what its
delete actually does before you confirm — deleting galleries keeps the
pictures inside them, deleting music albums keeps the tracks, and so
on.

Music albums also gained tick boxes and bulk actions, which they never
had. It was the one content list where absolutely everything had to be
done one item at a time.


DRAG AND DROP ORDERING, THROUGHOUT THE ADMIN PANEL
--------------------------------------------------

Anywhere the order of things is set by hand, that order can now be
dragged instead of typed into little number boxes.

That covers the category lists for galleries, music and stories; the
forum's categories, the forums inside them and the thread prefixes; the
pictures inside a gallery; and the tracks on an album.

Forums can be dragged from one category into another, not just
reordered within one, and dropping one into a category that has no
forums yet works too.

Dragging rewrites the order but does not save it. A note appears saying
the order has changed and has not been saved yet, and the same Save
button you have always used is what commits it. Getting it wrong costs
nothing: reload the page without saving and it is exactly as it was.

The number boxes are all still there and still work, so nothing has
been taken away.


A "MINE" TAB ON THE COMMUNITY FEED
----------------------------------

The feed now has three tabs rather than two: Everyone, Friends, and
Mine.

Everyone and Friends no longer include your own activity — see the bug
fixes below for why — and Mine is where it lives instead. It is the
place to go and check that something you posted actually landed.

Your posts still appear in everybody else's feed exactly as before.
This only changes what you see.


THE SITE HAS A SITEMAP
----------------------

Mostly invisible, but worth recording: there is now a sitemap and a
line in robots.txt pointing at it, so Google and Bing can be told the
site exists in the proper way rather than being left to guess.

It lists exactly one page, and that is correct — everything else is
behind the login, so there is genuinely nothing else a search engine is
allowed to see.

BUG FIXES
========================================================================


TRACK LENGTHS WERE WRONG
------------------------

This is the big one, and it had been wrong since music was added.

If you ever watched a track length on a music page you may have seen it
show one number and then quietly change to another a second later.
Other tracks just showed "?:??" forever. In the admin panel they were
wrong and stayed wrong.

Here is what was actually happening. When a track was uploaded the site
guessed its length by reading the very beginning of the file and
assuming the whole thing was encoded at that same rate. For a great
deal of music that assumption is simply false, and the guess came out
badly wrong. Worse, for ogg, wav, m4a and flac files — all of which you
are allowed to upload — it could not read them at all, which is where
the "?:??" came from.

The music player had been papering over it the whole time. Every length
on the page was quietly being re-read from the real audio file in the
background and the text swapped out underneath you. That swap was the
flicker. It worked, so nobody had to care — until you looked at a
length somewhere the player was not running, like the admin panel.

Lengths are now read properly out of each file's own header, correctly
for every format the site accepts, and every track already uploaded has
been recalculated. There is no flicker any more because there is
nothing left to correct.

One consequence worth stating plainly: if a length is wrong now, it
will stay wrong on screen instead of fixing itself. That is deliberate.
Please say so if you see one.


THE FEED ANNOUNCED YOUR OWN POSTS BACK TO YOU
---------------------------------------------

Post a forum reply, go to the dashboard, and the Community Feed panel
would cheerfully inform you that you had just posted a forum reply.

The panel had also drifted away from the real feed in four other ways
nobody had noticed. It was showing sign-ins, individual replies, an old
style of picture entry that the feed itself stopped showing long ago,
and activity from members who had never confirmed their e-mail address
— that last one being something the rest of the site is careful never
to do.

All five are fixed, and the panel now follows exactly the same rules as
the feed page it summarises.

The feed page itself was changed at the same time, which is where the
new Mine tab came from.


THE FORUM DIGEST SAID "18 REPLIES" WHEN IT MEANT 2
--------------------------------------------------

Spotted in a real e-mail. A digest headed "here is what happened since
yesterday" listed a thread as having 18 replies, and the forum showed
nothing like that many new ones.

The e-mail was printing the thread's total reply count — every reply it
had ever received since the day it was started — directly underneath a
heading promising to tell you what was new. On an old, busy thread with
two new posts, that read as wildly wrong, and it was.

It now counts only the replies that arrived in the period the e-mail
covers, and it leaves out your own, so the number matches what you find
when you get there.


THE EMOJI BUTTON WAS A SKULL, AT THREE DIFFERENT SIZES
------------------------------------------------------

The button that opens the emoji picker was a skull, which is on theme
but does not look like a button that opens emoji. It is a smiley now,
in all three places you can use one: comments, forum posts and private
messages.

It was also being drawn at a different size in each of those three
places, because it was inheriting whatever text size the surrounding
buttons happened to use — smallest of all in the forum toolbar, where
there is the most competing for your attention. It is the same size
everywhere now.

The skull emoji itself is untouched and still in the picker.


TICKING "E-MAIL ME" DID NOTHING IF YOU HAD E-MAIL SWITCHED OFF
--------------------------------------------------------------

If you had turned forum e-mails off in your account settings and then
ticked "send me an e-mail when it is replied to" while starting a
thread, nothing was sent. The account setting wins, which is correct —
a tick box on a form should not quietly switch a whole category of
e-mail back on — but nothing anywhere said so.

The same was true of the follow box under comments.

Both forms now say it, plainly, right underneath the box, with a link
to the setting in question. The tick still does its job either way: the
thread is watched or the conversation is followed, and you still get
the bell. Only the e-mail half was ever affected.


THE ACCOUNT SETTINGS CONTRADICTED THEMSELVES
--------------------------------------------

The e-mail preferences card said "this overrides all three settings
below" when there were four of them, and three of the switches had
labels so similar that they read as duplicates of each other.

The counts are right, and the three confusable ones are now called
"Someone answers you", "Threads you followed", and "Tick follow for me
automatically" — which are, in fact, three quite different things. The
last of those has been moved under its own heading because it is not an
e-mail setting at all.


GALLERY IMAGE ORDER COULD SILENTLY REVERSE
------------------------------------------

The gallery edit screen in the admin panel showed the pictures inside a
gallery in a different order from the one members actually see on the
site. That did not matter while nothing wrote that order down — but now
that the order can be dragged and saved, it very much would have.

The edit screen now opens showing the same order as the public gallery
page, so saving cannot quietly shuffle somebody's gallery.


SMALLER THINGS
--------------

The tick box for watching a thread no longer claims the digest is
daily, since it is not any more.

The Following list no longer SHOUTS THE TYPE OF EVERY ROW IN CAPITALS.

Music and album comment sections no longer print "No transmissions yet.
Be the first." under an empty comment list. The empty box is directly
underneath it and says the same thing without taking up a line.
